Singapore government monitors rising food costs, pledges hawker support if needed

Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu stated on June 6 that authorities are in close contact with hawkers and food distributors as the cost of living remains "real and pressing". While wholesale prices have remained stable, logistics costs are driving up retail food prices throughout the distribution chain. The government stands ready to assist hawkers specifically and has pointed to CDC vouchers and one-time cost-of-living payments as existing tools, while calling on the community and households to help manage costs collectively.
