Singapore: All teachers must complete compulsory AI training modules by end-2027 under new MOE plan

Singapore's Ministry of Education launched the Teacher AI Literacy Professional Learning Roadmap in August 2026, requiring all primary, secondary, and junior college teachers to complete three compulsory AI training modules. The first module, covering AI fundamentals, ethical considerations, safety, and responsible use, must be finished by end-2026; two further modules on age-appropriate use and AI's effects on student thinking are due by end-2027. Each module takes 30 to 45 minutes online, and MOE-developed AI tools are being introduced gradually from Primary 4 with teacher supervision.
