Kenneth Jeyaretnam, secretary-general of the Reform Party (RP) and veteran Singapore opposition figure, died on July 18, 2026, aged 67, his wife Amanda Jeyaretnam announced on the afternoon of July 19. She said he "died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family." Jeyaretnam is the elder son of the late J.B. Jeyaretnam (JBJ), the first opposition politician elected to post-independence Singapore's Parliament in 1981 and founder of the Reform Party in 2008.
