Workers' Party leader Pritam Singh was re-elected as secretary-general and Sylvia Lim as chair of the central executive committee (CEC) after a secret vote at a special cadres conference held on 28 June 2026. The conference was called after 25 cadres asked Mr Singh to account for his December 2025 conviction for lying to a parliamentary committee. Cadres voted 'well in excess of the supermajority' to retain him, with former chief Low Thia Khiang and lawyer Harpreet Singh — the only new face — also elected to the CEC.
