PM Wong launches 'Screen Smart from the Start' campaign and portal to guide digital parenting

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong launched the 'Screen Smart from the Start' nationwide movement at the fifth National Family Festival on May 31, alongside a new government portal called 'Be Screen Smart' that consolidates guidance on screentime and device use for families. Wong, whose announcement was made through the Ministry of Digital Development and Information, warned that while digitalisation gives children access to a world of knowledge, 'it also gives rise to new challenges' — citing excessive screen time as a risk to children's development and family interaction. The campaign aims to help parents build healthy digital habits from a young age.
