Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will travel to Jakarta on July 6 for the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders' Retreat, where he and President Prabowo Subianto are expected to reaffirm bilateral ties. The retreat — the leaders' second, hosted by President Prabowo — is the annual highest-level bilateral platform between the two countries, with senior ministers from both sides reviewing cooperation across a broad range of sectors. In 2025, Singapore remained Indonesia's top source of foreign direct investment, contributing US$17.4 billion, with both governments now expanding collaboration into the green economy, cross-border electricity trade, carbon capture, and artificial intelligence.
